6. Glossary

Moisturizes; Hydrate

Solid phase formed under very specific conditions of pressure (high pressure, typically 50 to 70 bar) and temperature (low temperature, between 3 and 4°C) by the mixture generated when the pipeline is restarted, resulting from the combination of gas (or oil) and water.

Neutron; Neutron

Neutral elementary particle which, along with protons, makes up atomic nuclei. It is used here as a probe to analyze and image materials.

NECTAR (NEutron Computerized Tomography And Radiography)

X-ray technique using high-energy neutrons.

FaNGAS (Fast Neutron-induced Gamma Activation Spectroscopy)

Analysis of material composition by neutron activation (high-energy neutrons).
