2. Standard textile treatment and impregnation technologies

Textile materials generally have to undergo specific treatments before being used to make finished or semi-finished products.

The aim of these treatments may be to improve their characteristics and appearance and/or to provide new properties.

The main textile processes are listed below.

In the first part, we will distinguish between treatments reserved mainly for traditional textiles (finishing treatments) and those used for technical textiles, without going into too much detail on the different techniques.
