1.1 Terminology

Twenty years after the emergence of the concept of "e-health" (health associated with the use of electronics), "digital content related to health", or the term "telehealth", the definition of these English-language notions is still evolving. Applications linked to developments in electronics and networks are grouped together under the generic term "ICT", which stands for information and communication technologies. While the tools of modern medicine also make use of electronics and computing, they do not always require remote communications for their operation.
