Multidisciplinary analysis

A set of numerical approaches designed to ensure coherent interactions (couplings) between different disciplines.

Discipline

Generic name given to an element of the design process, which can be an engineering discipline (aerodynamics, propulsion, trajectory...) or a subsystem of the complete problem (wing, tank, engine...).

Multidisciplinary optimization (or multidisciplinary design optimization)

Engineering field developing digital techniques to solve design problems involving several interacting disciplines.
