10. Evolution
As with other equipment, tower cranes are increasingly benefiting from technical assistance. This means greater safety, in addition to improved lifting performance.
The crane operator has more systems at his disposal, but he's still the only one in charge.
Crane equipment may include :
a permanent radio link between the crane operator, the slinger and the team leaders;
a camera on the ground, with a screen on the control box, providing an in-cab driving aid that enhances the precision of movements. Another screen displays the authorized load, the load actually lifted, and allows the user to deduce the percentage of the overturning moment, the height under hook and the reach;
control of maximum winch load;
