INTRODUCTION
Installation of a green roof involves laying the waterproofing, which must be able to resist root penetration, over or sometimes under the thermal insulation, followed by the installation of the greening complex, i.e. the type of vegetation selected and all the elements required for the long-term development of the green layer. The vegetation can come from seedlings or plantations; it can also consist of pre-cultivated rolls for extensive roofs, or pre-cultivated cassettes. The entire green roofing system must be installed under the responsibility of the waterproofing contractor, who may subcontract or co-contract with a landscape architect.
