4. Wind effects
The action of wind on a building is an important parameter, especially if it's made of wood, and one that needs to be taken seriously into account right from the design stage when calculating the structural elements.
Unlike other climatic overloads, such as snow, which is easier to materialize, the effects of wind are often underestimated or even neglected.
DTU P 06-002 rules NV 65, defining the effects of snow and wind on constructions, has been replaced by standard NF EN 1991-1-4 (November 2005) (Eurocode 1), which includes a new wind map.
