The type of soil and its granularity, with each granulometric class corresponding to one or more appropriate techniques enabling work to be carried out under optimum technical and economic conditions;
type of geotechnical work: consolidation, waterproofing, underpinning, structures, anti-liquefaction treatment, etc;
interactions with existing structures and environmental preservation;
the site footprint for equipment and machinery in relation to the available space;
the cost of the work.
