6. Anchoring
One of the special features of a timber frame is its relatively low weight. The weight of the construction (roofs, floors, walls, framework), which stabilizes traditional buildings and avoids the risks of heaving and tipping, can only play a very limited role in a timber structure. To compensate for this weakness, a wooden house needs to be solidly and appropriately anchored.
