8. Inflow and outflow
A stream is a channel that receives ("input" stream) or supplies ("output" stream) information. This channel is associated with a device or a file. An input stream is an istream object, while an output stream is an ostream object. The cout stream is a predefined output stream, connected to the standard output stdout; similarly, the cin stream is a predefined input stream, connected to the standard input stdin.
