5. Coupled lines (crosstalk)
Consider two lossless lines, identical in geometry and cylindrical with the same axis Ox (there is no flaring or narrowing of the structure). These two lines are placed close to each other and are therefore coupled (part of the energy transiting on one of the lines is partially diverted onto the other line). The lines are also assumed to be homogeneous, i.e. the dielectric is unique and homogeneous throughout the space between the two conductors of each line (dielectric characterized by ε and µ ).
