5. Techniques for working on low-voltage installations

5.1 Contact work

The contact working method (figure 1 , but with personnel's feet at ground potential) is used on low-voltage electrical installations to meet the need for maintenance and repair work on these installations when off-voltage work is impossible or could have dangerous consequences for people.

This method is taught by approved and competent organizations, as it has an important pedagogical purpose that needs to be developed. Given the current state of development of low-voltage live working, this is the method used to tackle live working in all countries...
