6. Our advice

6.1 Automate data entry for the carbon dashboard

When connected to a building management system (BMS) or SCADA system, the dashboard can be populated automatically. Dedicated software solutions (EMS, CMMS carbon modules) directly incorporate emission factors and generate the components of the BEGES report. Even without an automated tool, a structured Excel spreadsheet with embedded emission factors is sufficient for initial monitoring. The key is regular updates and traceability of source data.
