However, since the publication of European Directive 2023/1791, companies consuming more than 23.7 GWh/year are required to implement an ISO 50001 EMS before October 2027.
In the first part of this study, we will describe the process of implementing the standard. The second part will focus on certification. The penultimate section will be dedicated to ISO 50005:2021, which offers a simplified approach for SMEs/VSEs wishing to initiate an EMS without immediate certification. Finally, the study will conclude with project financing.
