3. Material transfer modeling
The ultimate aim of the modeling is to provide reliable tools for calculating the dimensions of the contactors used for a given waste gas treatment operation. The most important point is the description of phenomena at the gas-liquid interface, where two thin regions (films) coexist on either side of the interface. Resistance to material transfer is located in both films. The simplest and easiest model to use is the double film model of Lewis and Whitman (1924)
