2.1 Legal, legislative and regulatory
The terms "legal" and "legislative" are not synonyms. The term "legal" refers to that which has its source in a legal text. Legislative" refers to that which emanates from a legislative body. One refers to the nature of the text, the other to the body from which the text emanates.
The term "legal" therefore refers to a text issued by a law. A legal text emanates from a legislative authority (Parliament or Senate).
A "law" is an abstract normative provision laying down a binding legal rule. A distinction is made between constitutional laws, which define fundamental rights and lay down the organization of public powers and the relations between them, organic laws,...
