ABSTRACT
The SPME-Adapter has been developed in order to simplify the punctual sampling of VOC in the air. This interface allows for combining a vacuum sampling of air with a pre-concentration by SPME. The bottle-vac samplers utilized are similar to canisters but are less costly and easier to implement. The air sample is drawn by the opening of a vacuum valve. The SPME fiber is then introduced into the bottle for the pre-concentration of the VOCs. The detection limits are of ?g · m–3 and the reproductibility is of 12%.

Abstract
To simplify grab VOCs sampling in air, the SPME-Adapter was developed. This interface allows combining vacuum sampling in an evacuated vial with SPME pre-concentration. Vials are similar to canisters but cheaper and easier to implement. The vacuum valve of the SPME-Adapter is simply open to let in the air. Then the fiber is introduced to perform in-vial extraction.
