A hybrid reaction system is one in which the pressure generated in a closed enclosure, in the presence of a runaway reaction, is linked simultaneously to a vapor pressure law and to the production of incondensable gases. In other words, according to Dalton's law, the total pressure P ₀ in the enclosure in question is the sum of the vapor pressure P _v of the reaction mixture and the pressure of the incondensable gases accumulated in the enclosure's gas phase, P _g :
