6. Risk Assessment and Prioritization

6.1 Continuous Improvement to Manage Risks

Before addressing risk assessment, it is helpful to recall the principle of continuous improvement, which forms the basis of this approach. Indeed, risk management is an iterative process that requires regularly re-evaluating hazards, risks, and emergency response actions. Figure11 illustrates the general process and the feedback loops that lead to updates of the results from the various stages. These iterations are carried out at a minimum according to a set schedule, but also in response to the following information or situations:
