When non-conforming products are identified internally or recovered from stakeholders who have detected them, steps should be taken to physically identify them and store them in places where they cannot be misused as if they were conforming.

Photos of these non-compliant products can also be taken to enrich a collection of examples or a defect library.

Storage conditions for non-conforming products may be important in order to preserve the initial state of the products for later analysis.
