10. Our advice
As FMECA is based on the study of cause-and-effect combinations,
the number of cases to be evaluated quickly becomes high, and the
work tedious.
Limit the FMECA to well-defined products
and functions, for well-defined life-cycle phases or applications.
Don't hesitate to break down complex systems into
simpler sub-assemblies, and carry out separate FMEAs for each.
Pay particular attention to functional analysis,
which greatly simplifies downstream analysis.
