Opportunity studies are based on :
existing processes and aim to transform the organization through "transformation workshops" to highlight business opportunities;
analyses based on a critical examination of the existing situation ("technical" or "business" criticism);
a spider-like representation to highlight the "least used" and "most used" processes;
results that identify processes "to be modified" and more generally "to be transformed" by adding new value(s) and new directions for innovation (i.e. new technologies and their use).
