The success of process reviews depends largely on preparation.
Before preparing each individual process review, it is useful to set the framework for this practice in terms of frequency and duration.
Periodicity is usually monthly or annual, depending on the type of activity concerned (business processes or other management or support activities). An annual calendar of process reviews is often drawn up, setting dates in advance so that everyone can plan accordingly. The usual duration of each process review varies from one to three hours.
Preparing a process review mainly involves :
identify the players concerned and inform them in good time;
collect and, if possible, distribute in advance the process data to be analyzed.
