2. What are the requirements for top management (§ 5.1.1)?

In ISO 9001, it is the responsibility of top management to demonstrate its commitment and leadership in the quality management system of the organization or company it leads.

This includes, in particular, establishing a quality policy and associated objectives, providing the necessary resources, implementing a QMS capable of achieving the expected results, promoting the process-based approach and the approach based on risks and opportunities, and ensuring the effectiveness of the QMS.

With Version 2026, a new responsibility falls to management: that of promoting a culture of quality and ethical behavior.
