3. Systematize the use of LCA with a view to continuous improvement
Conducting an isolated LCA following the guidelines outlined in step 2 is the first step toward an eco-design approach. The results of the study can be used, for example, to fuel an eco-innovation approach (see, in particular, Rapid eco-innovation using the Brezet wheel [FIC 0239]). However, a genuine change management approach through eco-design must integrate LCA more systematically and deeply embed a culture of innovation among designers.
To achieve this, various avenues for progress are possible.
