Lithium battery; lithium-ion batteries (LIBs)
Batteries in which the Li+ ion is used.
Potassium batteries; potassium-ion-based batteries (PIBs)
Batteries in which the ion used is K+.
Sodium batteries; sodium-ion-based batteries (SIBs)
Batteries in which the ion used is Na+.
All-solid-state batteries (ASSBs)
Batteries in which the electrolyte is also solid. All components are solid.
Atomic layer deposition (ALD)
A chemical technique for depositing thin films from the vapor phase. The precursors enter the vapor phase and react sequentially with the sample surface.
Molecular layer deposition (MLD)
Same operating principle as ALD, but instead of atomic layers, molecular layers are formed due to the use of entirely organic precursors.
