2. 3D-s image distribution
2.1 Broadcast
Transmitting stereoscopic images to a large audience via a digital television network has three constraints:
available network throughput capacity, strictly regulated and shared between service operators;
3D-s quality requirements;
a large installed base of 2D HDTV decoders.
The new DVB and ATSC standards have taken these constraints into account.
