5. Conclusion
Solid-state shaping of titanium alloy semi-finished or finished parts is carried out by all the conventional processes used for other metal systems: forging, rolling, extruding, drawing, etc., to which can be added advanced techniques such as superplastic blowing and powder metallurgy. Other techniques are also available for titanium alloys and require the addition of liquid metal: casting, welding and additive manufacturing.
The aim of mastering part manufacturing processes is to give products not only a geometric shape, but also a microstructure suitable for subsequent use. To achieve this, it is necessary to know the microstructural evolution of the two phases involved with a fair degree of precision. This article outlines the thermomechanical treatments required to define the limits of processing ranges.
