2. Manufacture of semi-finished products
Titanium-based semi-finished products consist of round bars obtained by forging, rolling or extrusion, and flat products obtained by rolling. Forging is currently the technique used to transform the ingot into a semi-finished product that can be further processed; it is therefore common to all semi-finished products.
Ingot forging aims to produce bars or flats with a fine, homogeneous macrostructure and a fine, homogeneous microstructure, all free from defects.
