4. Sample heating
The sample heating system integrates several functions:
regulated heating ;
controlled atmosphere containment ;
regulated cooling.
The assembly adapts to the scale with the different arrangements corresponding to the type of scale used (figure 2):
suspended vertical ;
vertical supported ;
horizontal.
The electrically powered furnace heats the sample using a resistor (tantalum, platinum, Kanthal®, graphite, tungsten, etc.). This heating element is protected by a neutral gas if necessary.
