4.1.1 Objectives of reaction calorimetry
Reaction calorimeters are designed to carry out chemical reactions under conditions that are as close as possible to industrial operating procedures. In such a calorimeter, whose measuring cell is a stirred reactor, all the usual operations such as addition of reagents, pH control, heating, cooling, distillation, etc. can be carried out, with simultaneous measurement of thermal effects.
