2. Conversion of Electrical Energy into Mechanical Energy

Among electrical devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy, motors, actuators, and speakers account for the largest annual global consumption of permanent magnets. Among the most common types of electric motors, DC motors and synchronous motors use permanent magnets.

2.1 Direct-Current Motors
