3. Boiler plus steam turbine
This is the oldest and most widespread system, with several hundred installations in France, mainly in industry where there is a need for both motive power and process steam. There are also around fifty in district heating plants (CU), including around 30 in waste-to-energy plants (UIOM), and the remainder in conventional boiler plants burning coal or fuel oil.
