2. Technical specifications
The units used in this text are :
for mechanical or electrical energy, the kilowatt-hour (kWh) and for the corresponding power, the kilowatt (kW) (the terms kWe and kWhe sometimes used are strongly discouraged by standards organizations);
for thermal energy: the calorific values of fuels and the quantities of heat produced or consumed, always given in LCV (lower calorific value), are expressed in kilojoules (kJ) or kilowatt-hours, the legal units.
Thermie (th) and kilocalorie (kcal), practical units, are still frequently used.
Thermal outputs are expressed in kilowatts (kW) and, even more frequently, in thermies per hour (th/h) or kilocalories...
