9. Glossary

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

A standardized methodology (ISO 14040/44) used to assess the environmental impacts of a product or service across all its life stages, from raw material extraction to end-of-life (cradle to grave).

Biomethane

A combustible gas produced by purifying biogas derived from the fermentation of organic matter. It has the same physical characteristics as fossil natural gas but is carbon-neutral when used.

Car policy

An internal company document defining the rules for the allocation, use, maintenance, and replacement of vehicles made available to employees.

Payload

The maximum mass of goods, equipment, or passengers that a vehicle is legally permitted to carry. It corresponds to the difference between the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and the curb weight.
