Appoint ; Back-up
Electrical power that must be added to or subtracted from that of intermittent renewable energies to deliver the power required by the remaining load.
Charge ; Load
Power setpoint assigned to generating facilities to ensure power system balance. A distinction is made between :
the full load, which must be provided by all generating facilities, grouped together in the complete mix;
the remaining load, i.e. the part of the load that remains to be covered once the contributions of hydro, nuclear and biomass generation have been taken into account.
