Reflections on the energy transition are based on scenarios that describe developments over the coming decades in response to a forecast of consumption (which may fall, stabilize or rise) and define a shift in the energy mix (growth or decline in certain modes of energy production) according to environmental or other frameworks [BE 6 980] . Analysis of the input data enables us to characterize how the electricity mix will function in the configurations forecast by these scenarios, looking two or three decades ahead.
