Vacuum lines are pressure equipment and therefore subject to regulations.
In Europe, vacuum lines are subject to PED 97-23-CE (Pressure Equipment Directive). The risk categories I, II and III specified in PED 97-23-CE are determined by the ratio of internal tube diameter to maximum operating pressure. Each risk category is associated with a monitoring level.
For multilines, the risk category of the line is defined by the inner tube with the highest risk category.
The most suitable construction code for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the PED directive 97-23-CE is the harmonized European standard
