8. Heat balance
Knowing the cooling capacity required for different types of furniture
and applications means you can make a well-considered selection of
the refrigeration systems you need.
This cooling capacity is generally expressed per unit of furniture
for single units, or per "linear meter" for furniture that can be
connected in a linear fashion.
This determination is usually made experimentally by the manufacturer.
Numerous laboratory tests, under well-defined conditions, are necessary.
French, European and international standards specify the conditions
and methodology to be followed. The major manufacturers are generally
well-equipped with high-performance laboratory facilities, and have
