Cross-flow air/product exchange corresponds, for example, to the case of a dryer with a perforated belt through which air flows, or a long continuous fluidized (often vibrated) bed, as shown in figure 9 . In the latter case, the drying air has a vertical upward trajectory through the vibro-fluidized product bed, while the product layer flows horizontally from the inlet (P ₁ on the left) to the outlet (P ₂ on the right), where it exits by D-overflow, defining a "cross-flow" circulation between air and product.
