The notion of model is a very general one. We can say that we have modeled a system if we are able to predict its behavior under the effect of a known stimulus. We're talking here about a hardware system, not an information system. The modeler seeks to represent the real physical system by a model M, which is then used to simulate its behavior. This model depends on a certain number of structural quantities, which we will classify here...
