5. Reductive elimination

When the reaction occurs in the opposite direction, it is called reductive elimination. In Wilkinson catalysis, for example, it is the last step in the process that generates the alkane molecule from the ethyl ligand: $\begin{array}{l} \underset{18}{[{Rh}^{lll} CIH ({CH}_{2} {CH}_{2} R) {P {(C_{6} H_{5})}_{3}}_{3}] \to} \end{array}$
