INTRODUCTION
Even before the Second World War, certain transition metals were known to catalyze organic chemistry reactions. These observations had already been applied on an industrial scale. Our understanding of organometallic chemistry reactions has enabled us to dissect the workings of these catalytic systems, improve them and develop new ones.
