Securing the supply chain is a vast topic, on which the literature is relatively recent: companies' concerns about supply chain risks have been greatly exacerbated by the events of recent years.

Most studies focus on a single element of security – visibility, collaboration, agility... This dossier proposes a global approach, based on all these key elements, in two stages: risk reduction and risk management. The tools and principles are not new, it's the way in which they are used and implemented that makes the difference: securing the supply chain must be seen as a philosophy in its own right.

The phase considered to be the most important is that of identifying and measuring risks. You can't prepare properly unless you know what you're getting ready for. It is at this very moment that the success of a security policy depends: poor anticipation...
