8. Mixing plans

Mixture designs are experimental designs used when studying products composed of several components [18] . The aim is to find the law governing one or more responses as a function of the mixture's composition.

8.1 Mathematical model

The factors are the concentrations x i of each constituent i in the mixture. The y responses are expressed as a function of these concentrations. The following constraint must be taken into account: the sum of the concentrations of the constituents of a mixture is equal to one hundred percent.
