1. Why functional economics?

The best way to define a new concept is certainly not so much to describe its attributes as to explain the reasons behind its emergence. The functional economy is first and foremost a response to new expectations. It corresponds to a very significant evolution in the economic context, and reflects a profound change in the terms of trade.

In terms of demand, it's no longer just the technical dimension that's taken into account. More complex and numerous considerations enrich the selection criteria, without necessarily facilitating the decision. To overcome this intricacy, a new interpretation of the collective system is required. It presupposes a renewed vision of the "relationship to things".
