2. Fields of design activity

By definition, industrial design concerns all aspects of the human environment conditioned by industrial production. Different categories are proposed.

2.1 Industrial (product) design

Industrial sectors are very diverse, from consumer goods to technical products, transport, capital goods and production goods. The designer can be involved to a greater or lesser extent, taking charge of a product's complete design (from marketing analysis to production follow-up), or intervening more lightly by improving the aesthetics of an already existing product.
