8.1 Steps in the process

The main steps are to carry out manual searches, then build monitoring dashboards, and finally set up automatic monitoring.

Step 1: manually search for information to validate keywords and expressions, identify influential people and experts (bloggers, twitters, facebookers, etc.), sort and assess the relevance of the results in order to select them. The results take the form of bookmarks, lists of sites and people to watch, lists of sites to crawl, and lists of keywords and search phrases. Based on these results and depending on the level of monitoring (daily, weekly or monthly), the monitoring tools are then parameterized.
