2. Industrial vision of scheduling issues

2.1 Scheduling in production management

Even if the above-mentioned problems are of course closely related to the industrial problem of scheduling, it seems interesting to us to place the scheduling problem in the context of everyday business life, in order to take a slightly different look at it.

In a company, scheduling is just one of the stages in planning, often carried out using MRPII (Manufacturing Resource Planning) logic, which is used by almost all computer-aided production management (CAPM) tools available on the market (including ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning).
