Work package

A group of project activities forming the smallest monitoring element in a plan.

Note – In traditional planning, a work package is defined by a content, a deliverable, a duration and a cost.

Sponsoring organization

Organization as defined by the ISO 9000 family of standards that allocates the necessary resources to project managers and to which the project manager is accountable.

Note – The sponsoring organization is usually an entity responsible for monitoring the framework document and allocating resources to projects.
